It's hard to convince colleagues to use Power BI in case they using linux. With a Linux version (ubuntu?) of the Power BI Desktop they would not need to install a VM or similar.

RE: Power BI Desktop linux version
This would be really nice. Linux is a powerful tool for Data Analysts. Perhaps you can port it to .NET Core which is multi-platform?
RE: Power BI Desktop linux version
Badly need this one! It is hard to use it in current situation on the laptop (very good one, but with 16GB RAM) inside the VM with all teams/zoom/browsers/office365/video chats opened and working!
Extremely expensive laptop will do the job, but this is not what I need....

'+1, suggest use electron like VS code
RE: Power BI Desktop linux version
'+1 from a data engineer who has to use PowerBI and hates the need to boot a virtual machine each time it's needed.

RE: Power BI Desktop linux version
I hope we can have one for arch linux.
RE: Power BI Desktop linux version
Yes. This isn't work related, but the latest Windows 10 builds don't jive so well anymore with some of my older software and hardware at home. It's a really long story but being able to run more MS Software in GNU\Linux could potentially help with this. The latest Windows 10 builds no longer work well for me...
*One* thing Microsoft could do to help with this situation is to *formally* legalize Wine...

RE: Power BI Desktop linux version
I just found out there is a teams app for Linux. Huray. But please, please bring more software to Linux! I would love to see Power BI land on my Ubuntu desktop.
Now I must fire up a VM with Windows or run Power BI on another machine, which is a shame.
Sorry MS, but IMHO you shouldn't make operating systems, you should make apps that run on any OS.
RE: Power BI Desktop linux version
Totally required in this age of data mobility across platforms!
