    Make Tabular SSAS Hierarchies visible in Power BI Desktop.

    Currently Power BI Desktop does not see the Dimension Hierarchies through a Live Tabular source. It would be quite useful if these were visible and could be used as Row/Column Drillable on Charts and Tables.

    Upgrading the Compatability Level for the .bim file from SQL Server 2012 RTM (1100) to SQL Server 2014 / SQL Server 2012 SP1 (1103) did the trick for us. We have several tabular models with date hierarchies; the one that did not show the hierarchy in PBI was the one with the older Compatability Level

    We have several tabular models with date hierarchies defined. They work in PBI all but one model, for some reason. Have been exploring the possibility of a SSDT issue (14.0.61707.300) or a SQL Server Analysis Services (14.0.806.134) issue . The interesting thing is DAX studio (2.7.1) is seeing/not seeing the date hierarchies in the same tabular models as PBI!

    I can't believe it isn't already there. It is always very frustrating when you can do basic data drilling in Excel and not in Power BI.

    Yes - we use the tabular model a lot - and we really need to see our hierarchies
