Give me the option of deciding the order in which my report level filters should be shown/sorted. Currently, the filters will sort randomly in the report level filter box. It should be possible to define a sort order, i.e. year - month - date for instance instead of the current 'random' sort order of report level filters

RE: Allow manual sort of report level filters

In addition to Report Level Filters on the Visualization pane, this should also include the ability to manually sort or order the items on the Page Level and Visual Level Filters as well.

Also, I am not sure if we can combine votes, but I did notice that this issue is also listed in https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/33792220-allow-manual-sorting-of-report-filters-instead-of

RE: Allow manual sort of report level filters

Is it possible to delete the
values in the filter pane? They are not updated if we have other filters... the values won't change, which is tricky

RE: Allow manual sort of report level filters

Would love this feature to logically sort the filters.

RE: Allow manual sort of report level filters

I don't think this is just a filtering problem. I believe that we should be able to change the sort order of a listed field based on its values rather than A-Z or Z-A ... This is so clumsy and creates a lot of wasted effort just looking for a solution. Otherwise we end up calculating for each potential Filtered Value then adding them back into a column and break the way the visuals are meant to naturally work. Why is this particular item taking so long to fix.

RE: Allow manual sort of report level filters

'+1. Rearranging how the filter dropdowns are displayed is important. While I understand there is a workaround by appending a 1_ or 2_ in front, it just doesn't seem natural and doesn't present well for a professional dashboard. Hopefully this could be addressed as it will save some heartache for many users. Thank you!

RE: Allow manual sort of report level filters

I do a kludgy work around by preceding the metrics with 1_, 2_ etc. which looks stupid but gets the job done.

RE: Allow manual sort of report level filters

Facing the issue, it should be treated as bug in Power BI. Say, I have filters like Start Date & End Date, then Filter Pane is showing in the order of...
End Date
Start Date

Which is meaning less.

RE: Allow manual sort of report level filters

I am encountering the same problem with the sorting or the arrangement in the Report level filters. Can we adjust this please? The example given by Chirag is very good!

RE: Allow manual sort of report level filters

Within a chart you can sort the legend on another field (Axis/Value/etc...) Sorting a Filter should be similar up to and including Manual arrangement.
