At the moment when we turn on data labels, we can only specify settings for frequency values (or whatever value is coming from the value field).

What I am suggesting is the ability to allow percentages as well. So instead of us having to create percentage metrics and calculated columns, PowerBI would calculate the percentages for the values within the visualisation.

Also it is important that we can show BOTH frequency (count) and percent data labels at the same time, not only one OR the other. We should also be able to specify how to separate both data labels (e.g. with a string of characters, a carriage return, etc).

This is pretty much the way it is with Excel at the moment.

RE: option to add percentage data labels

Our users are also complaining about this. In Excel they can have for example 57 (60%) as the label. they are saying that Power BI isnt giving them what they want specifically due to this issue

'@towino: Exactly. Pretty much all of my users are complaining about the lack of flexibility in this.

The percentages already shows when you hover the cursor over the visualization....however it would be nice to see the percentages directly. On the visualizations Format we only have Category, Data Value or both.......it would be nice to include percentage....

RE: option to add percentage data labels

Yes, I agree. With calculated columns, it does not provide a dynamic data if we interact with the reports. If percentage calculation was available, the reports would be more meaningful.
