Relative date filtering is now implemented. But the relative date filtering is not visible (in the automatically populated visual filters) if you have chosen a date hierarchy. To implement a relative filter you either need to do it before changing a date hierarchy, or populate the date column yourself.
Once you know this, it's easy, but I guess many of us would miss this filtering option since many of us is using a date hierarchy in e.g. the x-axis
