Vertical reference lines on the x axis

I plot anomaly trend data over time. I would like the ability to include dynamic vertical reference lines on the date (x axis) for all applicable chart types (line, bar, stacked bar, combination, etc). The reference lines represent milestones and help to explain and understand changes in trend data.

RE: Vertical reference lines on the x axis

I really would like to see vertical or reference lines.

The analytics tab allows constants by no vertical lines?

There are multiple searches suggesting a hack, which I find very limited.

OkViz has it for free, but to remove the watermarks I have to pay 180/yr for 3 licenses min.

Environmental consultant here, need to show dates where we implement a treatment to a site to illustrate impacts of the treatment (e.g. +/- in contaminant concentration). Better yet if we can add this to an already established stacked bar and line chart, but that might be a lot to ask if we can't add a dynamic reference line to a graph with a single y-axis.

I agree, I need this too.
I'm creating a pareto chart, and I want to put a vertical and horizontal line for my 80/20 position

I would like to use this function to mark special days like Christmas, Easter or Mother's day.

RE: Vertical reference lines on the x axis

Maybe it would help to make the implementation easier if in the "Analytics" section of the visual you could change the "Constant" line type based on the axis since we can already do that with the Y-axis but not the X-axis!

Seems a useful as well as an easy add - this would have an awful lot of use in date-based analysis, to highlight today's date for the basis of backlogs, some relative date in the past for serious backlogs etc

Such a low hanging fruit. Definitely a common use case when plotting forecasts or to highlight checkpoints on a trend line.

I second everyone here...this is much needed for time analysis.

RE: Vertical reference lines on the x axis

This is critical and a basic functionality of all timelines. Please develop this.
