For organizations that are heavily invested or are planning to invest in Microsoft Services (Azure, Office 365, Power BI...)...

There is often a group of users who are using Third Party tools for visualization (Tableau, Qlik etc.).

It would really strengthen the case for Microsoft if PowerBI.com allowed these 3rd Party tools to connect to it's datasets.

This would ease the discussion around adoption of Microsoft technology (without the need to necessarily give up on all other tools used).

This way, Microsoft Power BI models can be the single sourse of truth, which can power the reporting in various tools - from reports in Power BI iteself, to Excel, SSRS and where needed Third Party tools like Tableau, Qlick etc.

p.s. I have loved the "new" Microsoft that puts collaboration before competition - from Microsoft executives appearing at Apple events, to Office/OneDrive for iOS, to the recent acquisition of GitHub. I am hoping for some of the same spirit around this idea. I really feel that in the long run, collaborating on this is a win-win for both Microsoft and other Visualization Tool Vendors (like Tableau)
