Presently, a report can be built using Azure Cosmos DB connector as Data Source in power BI desktop. As the connector has not been integrated with power bi services, so that the data cannot be refreshed in Power BI Service, for the data refresh, its need to do a manual refresh from desktop and publish the report in power BI services to get the updated data. We believe that Azure Cosmos DB connector should also work for power BI services and it will be grateful for the schedule data refresh.

This solution should be added for security reasons as we have to open CosmosDB to all Azure network instead of just PowerBI.
We are not able to just add the connection as a data source in PowerBI services to refresh data using a gateway.
If you implement this, we could host an agent on a VM (which could be whitelisted to CosmosDB to limit the risk).
