Id like to display to the user which level and value they have drilled down to, I.e. displayed in the header.

I agree, a secondary title header on drill downs to show year and/or month when your drilling down.

I agree - I've had lots of business feedback to this effect, and it really is analysis presentation 101 that charts/graphs should have a title (without which bars/funnels/charts have no clear reference point).

Adding this feature would be a certainly improve the chances of business adoption.

We are evaluating PowerBI and in user testing, all the users have reported that they would like the title to change when they drill-through and filter so they can be sure that what they're looking at is what they wanted and also to remove any confusion when they are sharing the view with another user.

RE: Display Drill down level

I have a report which uses the scatterplot to enabling drilling though the org structure to slice to the results a user is interested in. https://msit.powerbi.com/dashboards/abfa898c-325a-4fc7-a20c-df1193cc4ac7
My customers have asked I expose some evidence of what layers they've traversed so far. (they've grown accustomed to this in VizFB)
