Presently, a model can be built using Azure Analysis Services as Data Source. However, data cannot be refreshed in Power BI Service, the connector has not been developed for imported data models. Azure Analysis Services works only on live connection. We believe that Azure Analysis Services should work also for imported data models.

I don't think it still works.. the documentation says refers isn't supported

"Both Connect live and Import options are supported. However, we recommended you use live connections because Import mode does have some limitations; most notably, server performance might be impacted during import. Also, if the model is to be refreshed in the Power BI service, the Allow access from Power BI setting applies only when choosing Connect live."

This should be marked as "Completed" -- it is now possible to schedule refresh for Azure AS imported data models.

RE: Refresh data in imported data models from Azure Analysis Services

We would like to migrate some of our on premise analysis services models to azure analysis services but this lack of feature breaks some of our reports - We have reports that are joining data from multiple different cubes and this can be done unfortunately only with the import mode.
