Currently you have to connect via gateway, but it would be much more convenient to be able to connect directly from PowerBI to Snowflake.

The on-premises gateway requirement has been been superseded now that the Snowflake SSO connector is available in public preview: https://www.snowflake.com/blog/using-sso-between-power-bi-and-snowflake/

I work for a fortune 500.... we're moving our data to snowflake. You better get this done or we'll be using Tableau.

This makes Power BI less than ideal when using Snowflake. We need this ASAP! Why would 2 cloud based systems need an "On-Prem Gateway"? That nullifies most of the benefits of using cloud solutions.

This is important feature for PowerBI with Snowflake implementations.

This is an important feature to make power bi useful with snowflake. Additionally Row level security management in snowflake would improve this feature.

Setting Gateway for each warehouse connection is a pain process.
We would love to have direct connection to snowflake from power BI
