You can pin live report pages to dashboard if you want this functionality, or use a report instead.

This is a major flaw in dashboards. This topic needs to be reopened and addressed.

I have pinned live report pages and the drill down function still does not work in the dashboards. This needs to be possible for dashboards to see trends over different time periods.

There is no such drill down feature available at Power BI Published Dashboard. Although its working in Report level but not in dashboard level. This issue should be fixed and drill down option has to be available at dashboard level.

Man, this is frustrating. My users are for more capable than what you give them credit for. They are just fine with clicking a button to drill down to see certain views. My issue is very simple, I'm only displaying Yearly and monthly information but not giving the end user the option to examine trends themselves seems counter intuitive.
Looks like I'll be sharing just reports to end users I guess. At least give us the option to decide for ourselves if end users can use the drill down feature on the dashboards.

agreed, we would like to share a dashboard with end users, not reports b/c we have other tiles that required to be viewed via Dashboard (e.g. Excel content pinned to dashboard b/c we can't pin to report), so the other tiles on Dashboard we'd like the end users to be able to use drill features and not have to navigate to another page (Reports) to use drill features.
Otherwise, improve your Pinning functionality to allow Excel Content pin to Report and then I won't have to use Dashboards.

The most previous Admin comment is incorrect, you *cannot* utilize Drill Down functionality in a Power BI Dashboard by Pinning a Live Report Page.
Please add this functionality to your Dashboards!
