The new auto Date Hierarchy which came out in the November update is excellent, but does not seem to be available when connecting to a SSAS Tabular Model. Desktop appears to recognise a Date field, but will now activate the hierarchy action.

RE: Enable SSAS and Date Hierarchy
This is so important for Tabular users! Please do something about it.
RE: Enable SSAS and Date Hierarchy
Pretty poor that the same data type delivered in 2 different ways is treated differently by PowerBI. Will result in people not using SSAS tabular cubes
RE: Enable SSAS and Date Hierarchy
Really need this after connecting through SSAS on-prem
RE: Enable SSAS and Date Hierarchy
This is a big one for our public organization. The ability to see/drill through data in trends over time seems like a no brainer to our executive team, and without functionality like this we have to fake it, use numbers to represent months, and it just doesn't look good.
Would be awesome if this could be fixed and would impact our organization's uptake of the tool.
Thanks!
RE: Enable SSAS and Date Hierarchy
Very important. This renders trend lines on line charts completely unusable as they have to be in a date format. Ultra granular data daily is sometimes worthless as a visual.
The behavior needs to be the same as deployed models.
RE: Enable SSAS and Date Hierarchy
It is interesting that the Multi-Dimensional models have their complex ragged hierarchies supported in Power BI, but NOT the basic SSAS Tabular Model via on-premise live connections. It would seem to be simpler to support the SSAS Tabular Model fixed hierarchies.
