I have a Power BI desktop file that is around 250 MB in size, I have done all the data modeling ,calculations and built few visuals and published the reports.
Now, I have to make a minor change to the visuals (no dataset change, no dax calculation change).
When I try to publish this change, it looks like Power BI deploys the whole 250 MB dataset again, it takes around 7-8 mins for the entire publishing process.
Is there a way to avoid Power BI from publishing the whole dataset again ? It would be nice if Power BI automatically detected if there has been a change in dataset since the last publish operation.

RE: Power BI Desktop - Publish Only Visuals, not the data
Our data lies in a production environment, most production environments have good co-location of data and publishing data which is already there from a remote location over a slow internet connection seems sub-optimal indeed, prohibitive in fact. Imagine putting all your data into Azure then downloading it to PowerBI Desktop only to push it back to Azure when publishing every time. This seems to me to be a time to market thing from MS 'lets support Excel with data first and forget about everybody else doing direct import and query', excuse me while I go fly to South Central US Microsoft data center to upload our production data from PowerBI desktop.
