Allow me to utilize SSRS PowerView just like I can with Excel PowerView and pin reports to the dashboard, however with SSRS, I would like to connect to on-prem data sources

Hi Doug, thanks for the suggestion. We have another suggestion for connections to on-prem data sources. Can you elaborate on the SSRS Power View requirement? Do you need to upload existing rdlx reports?

I can't believe this product was recommended to me, it is completely impossible to make dynamic reports with data from multiple SSAS data sources... which was my only goal O_O

What a waste of time...

"Please explain how Power BI could possibly be used for centralised reporting in this state. Am I meant to just create endless duplicate reports for each filter needed?"

My thought exactly...

RE: PowerView rdlx connecting to on-prem data source

How am I supposed to have director level summary dashboards if I can't filter!? I can't use a "report of reports" since they do not sync and it looks like MS has no plans to make them sync. Please explain how Power BI could possibly be used for centralised reporting in this state. Am I meant to just create endless duplicate reports for each filter needed?

RE: PowerView rdlx connecting to on-prem data source

We display push datasets using Power BI dashboards to show near real-time information to our customers. This use-case will certainly become more common in the future.

We cannot use reports or pin live pages. These do not update as new data is received.

'@ Kim - Hi, so does your answer mean MS is essentially giving up on improving dashboards?

This is a make or break feature for our project. We have hundreds of individual reports that need to be combined into one dashboard and pre-filtered via query string parameters in programmatically generated hyperlinks.

I agree with others on this forum - this feature should be added. As simple as that.
