Hi Team,

Please provide backup feature for power bi reports.suddenly if i deleted reports from server there is not option to retrieve the reports as of now.

If you can provide this feature at service level that will be very useful to maintain the backup reports.

Regards,
Bajee.

Associated objects like comment threads should also be backed up and restorable with those reports.

RE: Backup of power Bi Reports

I learnt that if I delete a data source in the service and reupload it (to fix field naming changes) that if it is an excel file being uploaded then all the reports using it are deleted automatically. Strangely, the same does not happen if it is a .pbix that is published to the service and replaced. So this caused me a lot of grief as I had around 20 reports that were made in the service, without a backup, all using the one excel powerquery file.

RE: Backup of power Bi Reports

I agree, offering a backup solution is a must have.
At least provide a PowerShell script to do this, currently its not working properly.

Again, either option works for me. Either a backup of the dataset and associated reports or a recycle bin. Either solution works for our group.

RE: Backup of power Bi Reports

It is insane not to have a feature that backups workspaces/dashboards/reports. For us, the main reason of going with Power BI is that it is self-service!

Should call it Limited (instead of Power) BI

RE: Backup of power Bi Reports

I understand how I can download a report as a .pbix...

...But I have a "self-service" workspace, where many users publish many reports. I would like to be able to easily back up (and restore) ALL of the reports. Like an interface to download and upload many .pbix files at once.
