Date Field used As Map Legend shows Date and 12:00:00 AM

When I place a Date field in the Legend of a Map I get the Date and 12:00:00 AM. The column imports as Date and the Data Type indicates Date in both the Query Editor and the Modeling tab. I can change the Format of the Date and the change is immediately reflected in ALL other visualizations I tried (including table, matrix, tree map, column chart, pie chart, etc...) However No matter what Format I select the Map Legend only shows in this format => m/d/yyyy 12:00:00 AM. Again other visualizations respond to the Format change except the Map Legend!
