Hi Power BI team.

I was hoping if you could consider giving us the ability to style tables in a similar way to Excel:

* Customise header
* Format first column
* Format last column
* Banded rows
* Banded columns
* Customise footer (last/total row)

The idea is that we should be able to customise the following for the aforementioned items: background colour, foreground (font) colour, as well as the font type, size and formatting (normal, bold, italic).

We should also be able to show/hide total (last) row. At the moment it is always visible.

Some users could say the same for the header (the might have a good reason for wanting to hide the header) - but I am personally not too fussy about it.

This is available for tables in Power BI. In the July release of Power BI Desktop, we included options for predefined table styles. You also have the option to customize the grid, format of the headers, turn on/off totals, etc. manually through the formatting pane.

Sorry for the duplicate. I did not find this idea at my initial search. Here is the post I did: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/11601510-table-styling-options-similar-to-excel

RE: Table styling options similar to Excel

I have uploaded a sketch of what I think would be a good interface for formatting tables, which follows the current Power BI UX: http://postimg.org/image/6vy8s9fpz/

Hope this helps!

P.

RE: Table styling options similar to Excel

Just like banded rows & columns are available in pivot tables in Excel, they should be available in Power View and Power BI.
