Often we need to expand on an idea from one report further and copy and paste visuals/pages from one PBIX to another. This would be a huge productivity and quality benefit.

We are excited to announce that this shipped in our November update of PBI Desktop: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#copyPaste For those asking, it will be included in the next version of Power BI Desktop for Report Server as well.

The best use of it would be while working as a team on same report.

'+1 to the request.

'+1 to the request. Even the ability to copy the layout of the visualization, knowing i will have to fix the data dependencies in the new PBIX, would be helpful.

I would like to add my vote for this functionality. This would be a HUGE plus for my productivity. Having to create new visuals from scratch rather than be able to copy from another report is a pain.

RE: Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's

As a simple starting point, why not enable copy/paste for items that aren't connected to data models, like lines, images, etc. This would be a huge win short term that would alleviate a lot of the headaches of report design.

If this is not on the "short term roadmap" please be sure to add to the overall roadmap. Judging by the fact that this is has been voted on so many times and that there are weekly posts to this idea, it should be an indication to you of how important this feature is to your consumers.

RE: Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's

Very blocking! since we don't have any aother alternative or workround to copy reports from a PowerBI file using live connection to tabular model into an another PowerBI file using the same tabular model (with data imported)

RE: Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's

Why does the tool save template files with Data Model & data connection?
I believe template file should save only controls format, alignment, colors, etc.
then when user connects to the new data Model, controls start to read data.
