Please add Collapse/Expand buttons in the Matrix Visualizations. Otherwise when all fields are expanded by default the user would have to scroll a lot to find what they are looking for. I could add a slicer to take user to the data they are looking for but then the rest of the data in the matrix disappears and more specifically the overall totals change!Expand/Collapse buttons would keep the overall totals as intended and totals for other fields while allowing the user to only expand the field they are interested in. Also ability to do conditional formatting for a specific field in the matrix would be nice. Thanks!

With our November update of Power BI Desktop, you can now expand/collapse matrix row headers. You can read more on our blog: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#expandCollapse A few people were asking about column headers. As some of the work involved for column headers is different than row headers, we want to understand how many users specifically need/want column header support as well. If you need column header support, please vote on this idea that I added to UserVoice: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200/suggestions/36038050

RE: Matrix +/- Collapse/ Expand Buttons

During a decade of implementing SSAS MD cubes, I creaetd some Parent/Child dimensions some to reflect the organisational structure of an Enterprise, some to reflect a chart of account (e.g. P&L Statement). Without a possibility to use this Dimension type like the Pivot tables do in Excel, I assume that some of my customers will not adopt Power BI

RE: Matrix +/- Collapse/ Expand Buttons

This is critical. I won't use PowerBI for a majority of my needs because you don't support this. Working with large data sets where family mapping occurs creates a dependency on this functionality.

RE: Matrix +/- Collapse/ Expand Buttons

Yes. Must have. I would suggest as well that we can select for each Rows which one need a Total.

RE: Matrix +/- Collapse/ Expand Buttons

Or add drill up / drill down in the Matrix for Power BI, just like the same function of Matrix in Power View. Please!
