In September 2017 we announced that Power BI Desktop is available through the Windows Store, giving automatic updates: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-at-ignite-2017-announcing-enterprise-ready-capabilities-for-establishing-data-culture-at-scale/

If you're not able to update to Windows 10, vote for this idea so that Power BI Desktop can be made available through Microsoft Update to older versions of Windows.

This is by definition an enterprise product, SCCM and WSUS is your enterprise deployment system - I do not understand why I even have to vote or request this in 2018. This software has been out for a while now there is no excuse - get it done. The admin overhead this causes is huge - we should not have to make a piece of software unmanaged and/or give users local admin, esp with a product FROM MICROSOFT.

Another vote! We've invested heavily in SCCM for deployment and patching, please include PowerBI!

Please have this as a Windows Update so as an end user I can use the latest version and don't need to go to IT every month

Please include Power BI Desktop updates via Windows Update so we can deploy via our normal process in SCCM

Please add Windows Update support. As soon as we push the application it's ready to be updated :( Management nightmare

I understand that Windows Store is not included in Windows 10 LTSB version we are using. So also a vote for deploying updates through Microsoft Update.
