Add SSAS Tabular Translations using Live Connection in Power BI Service

We need the Powerbi Service to handle translations from a SSAS Tabular using Live Connection. the functionality is already in SSAS, however it doesn't work when the tabular model is published to the Power BI service using live connection.

It has been working, (although not supported)

I found some info here, but unable to interprete how the translations will be implemented, are only the field names translated, or is it possible to take the value from translated fields depending on the locales... no clue, the description is not clear at all, and no specification....

"Power BI users see dataset fields in their client locale or language when translations are defined in the dataset or Analysis Services model."

Is there any progress with this idea? We need it desperately! It used to work in previous PBI versions but now it doesn't!

Translations are foundamental not just for providing usability across multiple countries, but also for changing the name of metadata columns and measures without having to change everything (tabular model, dax formulas...). Please carry on with this idea..
