Adding new row above or below the column headers of a table visualization

what if we want to display totals just after the column headers or want to insert a row above the column headers and merge it for some extent and give a text in those merged cells and another text in remaining merged cells...!!

This would be extremely useful when preparing and presenting executive reports for clarity and understanding

'I am Also looking for the same. Suppose I have 3 Columns (X,Y,Z) in a tabular report. I want to add one custom header on them. And the report will like

Custome Header
-------------------------
X | Y | Z
The Merge Mechanism doesn't work here as Merge will make these three columns as 1 with a custom separator.

For my purposes, adding an extra row above the column header would allow for a more descriptive header that applies to multiple columns.
