It would be great if slicers were searchable. Many times the list of possible items people can slice by is large, and having to scroll till you find the value(s) you are looking for is tedious.

Please enable slicers to be searchable (much like what Qlik has been allowing for years already).

Thanks.

Searchable slicers are available now in Power BI! Make sure you're on the June release or later of Power BI Desktop. You can find the search box by clicking the "..." menu on the slicer visual and selecting search.

RE: Searchable Slicer

For some reason this feature is not working properly on my SSAS cube. I've created a slicer and added the search bar, but if I type anything (letter or number) in, nothing is found. If I click on an item in the slicer, and then type anything in the search bar it finds just that 1 item, even if the text has nothing to do with that particular item.

This should also not be marked as "Completed" without support of the "Select All" control. As implemented, the "Select All" option disappears when search criteria is entered.

When the Select All control is enabled, the "Select All" checkbox should NEVER be hidden! When search criteria is entered, "Select All" should select all items that match the current search criteria.

For Example: Searching for "Diabetes Mellitus" in an ICD-9 code Slicer displays 32 diabetes mellitus diagnosis codes. Checking the "Select All" checkbox should select all 32 diabetes mellitus codes without selecting any hidden ICD-9 codes that don't match the search criteria.

RE: Searchable Slicer

I agree that this should not be completed without the ability to search for numeric values as well. I have a slicer of work order numbers that i want to be able to search in my slicer. I can't do this yet. Please add this feature.

Thanks Kim

RE: Searchable Slicer

If using the mobile app I've found that clicking the search box on the slicer results in my phone's on-screen keyboard obscuring 90% of the report including the search box I'm entering into. If the app could display the reports in portrait then I suspect this wouldn't be such a problem. Having it fixed in landscape mode is fine for larger screens but its very limiting when using an average sized phone.

RE: Searchable Slicer

Hello Kim,
Thanks for adding this very important feature.
I have 2 question about it :
1. why can't we search on an non text data type.
2. After finding my searched results in the slicer list, is there a way to select all instead of manually select them ?

thanks
