When this error occurs, the most likely reason is that a proxy authentication server on your network is blocking the web requests issued by Power BI Desktop.
If your network uses a proxy authentication server, your administrator can fix this issue by whitelisting the following domains on the proxy authentication server:
•app.powerbi.com
•api.powerbi.com
•domains in the *.analysis.windows.net namespace

Clearly, this is an important feature for many corporate customers, the lack of which is made all the more frustrating by there being no obvious workaround.
Surely, it can't be that hard to incorporate proxy awareness in the product. I cannot believe that people have been raising this issue for over 15 months and yet we still cannot access the simplest of web content from behind a corporate web proxy.
Please implement proxy awareness as a matter of priority and/or publish a workaround that allows customers to do what they need to without it.

This is very important for the sales team to have the ability to map KPI's to specific geo-locations throughout their markets within ABI.

This is an extremely important development for Anheuser-Busch Inbev. As most of our employees work in the citrix environment, we need maps that would work within the Citrix firewall. This would allow most of our users to start using PowerBI as their primary self-service BI tool.
