We are using SSAS Tabular as our datasource and we have issues when users try to 'Export underlying data' from the Power BI Service. The query generated to SSAS when doing this seems to include every measure from the table which in some cases is 30+ measures and sometimes from multiple tables. The query never completes and consumes nearly all resources on the SSAS server.

We need to disable this option while still allowing export of summarized data.

RE: Disable export of underlying data

I agree. It should be a high priority! This also affects our clients and its frustrating.

RE: Disable export of underlying data

Please disable this element - it is causing our system to hang and clients are getting very frustrated

RE: Disable export of underlying data

It does seem a bit odd that users can export the underlying data in Power BI. Please can this be set up in a way that allows us to allow this for some recipients of the reports while blocking others?

RE: Disable export of underlying data

It is very important to be able to disable it, as it happens that if the underlying dataset has milion of rows it simply hangs and does not work, and the users ask why.

RE: Disable export of underlying data

In large corporations, users need the ability to control the data exports at the report level (based on named individuals or groups). Most users do not have admin access to the tenants to manage this. We want users to have the self-analytic capabilities and at the same time, ensure that we can provide the correct protection for data when it is warranted.

RE: Disable export of underlying data

HUGE issue...let us turn off down to the report and/or visual level.

Please suggest when MS is planning to incorporate this feature in near future, and any tentative time lines..

RE: Disable export of underlying data

Exactly, we need to disable Export underlying data of a panel while still allowing export of summarized data!

RE: Disable export of underlying data

I would suggest some greater granularity to enable/disable summary & detail exports in the Admin Portal. Additionally separate enable/disable controls for Analyze in Excel

RE: Disable export of underlying data

this will be a huge help in our dashboard // especially if we share the report externally
