First of all, very impressive with the features Power BI Public Preview, I have one question regarding the Salesforce Dataset though, can it connect to custom objects? I've looked but can't find where it can.

Thanks!

At the moment we don't import custom objects (we have to request specific things through their API) but we could improve this in future. We could also import custom fields on their standard objects. Who else would find it useful? Please add your vote if you would!

Salesforce report has 2000 rows limitation. Custom object will be very useful for my company to create report. we can write query to get particular columns and joining objects without number of rows restriction.

We use RemedyForce and this will be essential for our consolidated reporting. The Salesforce Reports connector has a row limit of 2,000 records which means it is no good for full history reports

Absolutely. We use a customized force.com CRM and the ability to connect to custom objects is a must

Can't you get around this by connecting to a SalesForce report that contains custom fields?

Not supporting custom objects/fields pretty much alienates our company from giving any serious consideration to Power BI. The offering looks very promising but we'll have to wait for some evolution.

The ability to query SFDC custom fields & objects is absolutely critical for us. Not useful without it.

I love Power Query but would love to have a console in excel and use SOQL or SQL instead of PFQL, I am familiar with SOQL/SQL but learning another query language becomes time consuming and confusing in the long term

'@TheresaPalmer - I was trying to workaround this and build my report through Power Query in Excel. However, I was not able to find some of the custom objects in the list. Are there any cases when certain custom objects won't show up?

Is there an update on this? We can't do nearly as much as we'd like to in Power BI without being able to sort by or use custom objects.

Any updates here? Would be great to see custom objects as part of the roadmap here...
