Would be helpful if username () or customdata () DAX command would return effective username logged into the portal, could be used for quick filtering based on the login for data that is uploaded from PowerBI

RE: Power BI Service return effective user name for username () DAX
User name now works to return email : https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-rls/

I see the CustomData property is now active. Is there documentation around this implementation?
We need it returning the email address of the user, even though they are querying a SSAS Live Database. Does it mean we get remove On-Premise AD authentication?

I agree, we need it for using powerBI with CRM.

We have the same requirements to filter report data base on current logged on user, being able to use username () dax function with the new Row -Level Security in Preview (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-rls/#limitations ), would be ideal.

we have a requirement to break out report data to individuals, the data is provided from a database using such an approach and then measures/filters would enable a single report/dashboard to be shared across multiple users from a single source removing DPA issues.
