Allow you to sort slicers alphabetically ascending or descending - currently their are no sorting options. Also, sorting based on another field in the same table would be really handy.

RE: Sorting on a Slicer

I agree Dan's comment, at least get rid of the number prefix. it so useless.

RE: Sorting on a Slicer

Most of my slicers all have a number prefix because I have to create a sort column for each one. We need either the option to sort manually within the slicers format options, or if that's not possible then at least sort using another column, which would at least get rid of the number prefix

RE: Sorting on a Slicer

This doesn't seem 'completed' if I can't add a second value to specify the ordering of a sort on besides alphabetical. This seems like a common scenario mentioned below. We have a product list which we want to order by release date to slice on, but there's no way to do that currently.

RE: Sorting on a Slicer

Possible idea: combine or bind slicer into the table view. Table view already has sort and filtering. You might then be able to add a hidden helper column to get custom sorted slicer. Could build a slicer that only presents the top items that could be toggled off in order to better show others, e.g. toggle off USA to see non-USA data on a map better.

RE: Sorting on a Slicer

Agree that we need the ability to sort on another field in the dataset that is not the field displayed. Multiple use-cases for this: month names being the most glaring / obvious one.

RE: Sorting on a Slicer

Sorting based on another field is not implemented. I need this to make bond credit ratings sort properly. The proper sort order should be:

AAA, AA, A, BBB, BB, B, CCC, CC, C.

But if I just use an alphabetic sort I get:
A, AA, AAA, B, BB, BBB, C, CC, CCC.

So I've got an additional field in my BondRating table called 'RatingOrder'. But currently I can't use that to sort my slicer choices.

RE: Sorting on a Slicer

As many people mentioned here, we need to be able to sort on another field, like month number, not just alphabetical sorting on the field in the view

RE: Sorting on a Slicer

sorting based on another field in the same table would be really, really handy. An example is a list of the month names. I don't want to sort on the names, I want to sort on the chronological number of the month in the year.

'@Will Thompson, but sorting based on another field was not added right? I would like to sort on Total sales for example. And can't we have sort options on other visualisations aswell?

RE: Sorting on a Slicer

It seems the sorting can't be save as a default for the object. Am I wrong about this?
