Power BI is a great tool for Data visualization but not the best for List/Print Reporting.
Paginated Reports are good but are not suited for End Users.
In order to have an easy way to allow End users to create List/Print Reports on their own I believe Microsoft Word is a great tool for the purpose.
The solution would be the following:
- Use the XML Mapping functionality in Microsoft Word in order to connect to a Power BI Data Source.
- Use the smart tags in order to allow the user to select the data data it wants.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central uses this functionality and it works well enough.
I share an example of the functionality in action :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtTrnDwRvnQ
It seems it would be a good solution for End user List/Print Reporting.
