We have embedded several Power BI Reports into our web apps and have gotten great feedback from customers. We are able to track high level statistics using google analytics but have no in-depth usage metrics to help guide future development of reports for customers.
Expanding usage metrics to include embedded content such as dashboards and reports would be extremely helpful to us in determining how reports are used, how often and by whom.

RE: Usage metrics for Embedded Reports
Really surprised this hasn't been included yet. It's a big gap, not being able to natively track usage of reports that are published to the web.
Why should I need to use a 3rd party service like Google Analytics with a Microsoft product? Hope this idea sees some traction soon.
RE: Usage metrics for Embedded Reports
usage metrics will not track embedding of dashboards and reports via the “user owns credentials” or “app owns credentials” flow. Why ? The idea is to create APPs without creating Sharepoint so we cannot follow the usage metrics of our Dashboard :-(
RE: Usage metrics for Embedded Reports
Hi, We are embedding Power BI reports in our SaaS solution (app owns credentials) and so all report requests are executed with a dedicated Pro user.
It is surprising to see that this user (and so ALL embedded consumption activity) is not reported in the Usage metrics ...
Microsoft is communicating largely on the Embedded PBI solution (I personally find it GREAT!!) and hope the lack of report metrics will be corrected as not logical at all.
Thanks
RE: Usage metrics for Embedded Reports
The only way to truly capture usage is by capturing stats from everywhere Power BI is used. Today it does not capture usage when using Power BI (preview) in the SharePoint workspace. The current partial solution is useless to me. I hope this will be enhanced soon.
