RE: VBA for Power BI Desktop

It would add significant value if Power BI can be addressed from Excel.

RE: VBA for Power BI Desktop

I love power bi and I love vba. Use VBA for both Excel and Access. Have made the switch to build everything but the most complicated stuff in PQ. Processing speed is usually reason for keeping some stuff in Access. Main complaint is that I am tired of creating beautiful visuals for folks to manually export and copy paste into Excel. A few weeks ago I decided to copy paste M code to Power Query in Excel and generate charts and stuff there. Goal is to create the full report for end user...not require a bunch of copy and paste. At least with VBA, I could write code to copy paste results Running PB and Excel parallel. Some users want PB others want Excel. Want to be able to add a macro that can export on refresh as trigger and export Excel files with charts for email delivery thru Outlook. Able to use scheduled refresh. Great feature. Just needs to go one step further to accommodate our Excel lovers.

RE: VBA for Power BI Desktop

Not opposed to Python but have to get IT on board. Doubt they are willing. VBA is already part of Office Suite
