Two visuals in a report with the same drill-down hierarchy automatically drill down together (not just filter) when connected on the interactions option. Thus, two or more valuations of the same hierarchy can be visualized simultaneously as you drill through either visualization, maintaining visual points of reference.
An example, I'm working with a product hierarchy for inventory, where we have product channel > major product group > product class > product line. In one visual, I have a bar chart for inventory turns. The other visual shows actual on hand inventory value. High inventory turnover looks great, but if it's for inventory value that is negligible compared to other products on hand, then the high turnover is moot.
