Please introduce a global setting to Prevent Teams from creating PowerBi App Workspace automatically when creating a new Team. As the new Workspaces are detached from Teams/Groups this should be a setting to prevent the App Workspaces beeing clotted with empty Workspaces from all our Teams.

RE: Disable or prevent Teams from autocreating App Workspace

I thought this common group scenario had been eliminated with the new App Workspace but clearly not. This is not a good experience. Please stop App Workspaces being created automatically. Members of Workspaces will not have Row Level Security applied and therefore automatically having Team members added to an App Workspace makes RLS redundant

Agree completely. Adding PowerBI workspaces automatically when they are not warranted or used is an admin headache.

RE: Disable or prevent Teams from autocreating App Workspace

Agreed that this is a major issue. We are in the early phases of implementing Power BI with the same governance model of preventing users from being able to create workspaces. In our case it is critical to our IT managed self-service model since the owner of the workspace is able to control security over the content, we need to be able to restrict who is able to create/own/manage a workspace.

RE: Disable or prevent Teams from autocreating App Workspace

We have a noticeable service governance problem with users complaining that they asked for a Microsoft Team to be created, but when the Team was provisioned, they also see a Power BI Workspace appear, which they did not ask for.

Please decouple Teams and Power BI Workspaces, as they are causing a headache for IT support.

RE: Disable or prevent Teams from autocreating App Workspace

We are getting overwhelmed with Workspaces created by teams. I turned off the ability for Workspaces to be created but now we are getting more than ever. Please disable the "feature"

The Power BI team gets overflooded with Workspace from Teams, this need to stop. Please MS implement a function that allows us to disable autocreating from teams

RE: Disable or prevent Teams from autocreating App Workspace

Agreed. In waiting for the tool to convert classic to new workspaces, we've started cleanup of classic workspaces, teams adoption is generating new classic ones faster.
If you delete the workspace in PowerBI, it heads on back and deletes the teams group!
We've got governance constraints on the ability to spin up new workspaces to reduce sprawl, and along comes Teams and creates more.
It also bypasses the governance structure we have in constraining the creation of workspaces, by letting classic ones pop up with admin members.

RE: Disable or prevent Teams from autocreating App Workspace

Absolutely agree, this is really annoying. I understand MS folks don't see this as a problem, because anytime you see somebody's contents, it's a mess of all sorts of workspaces and reports. But in the business environment, it really affects the user experience negatively..
