Export a report directly in Excel (not only via csv file)

Administrator on 16 Jun 2017 23:49:13

Exporting to Excel from Power BI is supported. You have two options for exporting your data to Excel: * Once you publish to the Power BI service, you can export your data to Excel by clicking on the ... button for any visual. See more info here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-export-data/ * You can use the Analyze in Excel feature to connect directly to your model in Excel: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-analyze-in-excel/

RE: export excel

Please reopen this idea for review. I agree with the latest comments, we need the option to export from P BI to Excel in the same way we look in power bi!

RE: export excel

'@Kim, please reopen this, this has not been completed. Need to be able to export to Excel from desktop, not just service. Anyway, the 'analyze in excel' gives you a pivot table, also not what's being asked here. I don't understand why this is so difficult? You can do this in Tableau.

RE: export excel

This is must have feature. I am really dying for this feature. There is also another big issue with PBI Desktop with excel. That we are unable to select PBI Desktop column and rows and paste in excel.
This facility should be available from Edit Query mode or the Data Mode.

Thanks

We need to export the data as they appear in PowerBI. Currently it is a very summarized version, specially for pivot tables

RE: export excel

Can we also support exports for visuals that use custom calculated measures?
