Create a filter that allows me to say 'Show the top N categories by value', e.g. 'Top 5 countries by sales'

We do need the ability to set-up a rule to handle TIES. Please don't deliver this feature half-way...

Whats the latest on this feature ?
as just implementing a TOPN & RANKX.

I particularly like the idea of the "Other" bucket for the remaining values that are not included in the TOPN results (mentioned by Mike below see Aug 25th). @Mike the dynamic visuals is a big ask...I could imagine customer WOW moments!!

Anyone got a link to a blog on how to get the "other" bucket in the short term ?

Agree! Should be as simple as selecting an option from the 'Show items when the value:' list box for the field you would like to see the TOP N on. Creating this particular measure is a waste of time. This is pretty common practice. I'm using a 2008 version of Crystal Reports and it has this functionality without the complexity of using DAX
