Since the July release it is possible to use tooltips on tables.
It would be great if this option can be used on buttons in the action section.
Now we have 'Back', 'Bookmark' and 'Q&A'
Is it possible to add 'Tooltip' for buttons, so it's possible to use (for example) an info button, which shows information about the current report or visual for customer purposes?

RE: Tooltips for buttons
Hi! I have been playing around with adding buttons to reports and it's great. I watched your video: Remove CONFUSION in your Power BI report with this little feature! Which was great, as I learnt how to import a gif and use it as a tooltip for another page. However, what I want to do is have a button on a report page, that when it's clicked, will show the gif (tooltip) that's on another page. Is this possible? With the Button- Action, there is no option for tooltip under Type. I have tried assigning a bookmark to the button, but that didn't work, as the report is on another page. Please help!

This idea is duplicate with another that has more votes. Please vote for the other idea:

RE: Tooltips for buttons
I'm playing around with a workaround I invented (or at least not seen written elsewhere) -
(1) I created a table with one cell = value 1
(2) I created a tooltip page (purpose - instructional picture for the user)
(3) A bar chart of my one-cell table displays the tooltip as expected
(4) I am now experimenting with different visuals to find the visual that I can make most resemble a button...
RE: Tooltips for buttons
Now that text tooltips for buttons is working, how about expanding it to include page tooltips. It would be nice to be able to display a key visual or two from the page to which the button is connected. It gives the users more context than just some words.
RE: Tooltips for buttons
Agreed! I put a series of buttons on my reports that might help people navigate such as menu, FAQ, back, clear report etc. Sometimes buttons aren't standard and hence a tooltip type view where you hover and it pops up with "Return to Main Menu" would be amazing. The information comment by Marc would be another fantastic application.
RE: Tooltips for buttons
This is really interesting. If we want to make self-explanatory reports, we need to help our user community by adding tooltips that explain the visual from a business point of view. Adding freetext tooltips to the button would solve it in a very elegant way.
RE: Tooltips for buttons
I am upvoting this because I think it is what I am looking for. I often steal valuable real-estate in reports adding a text box to explain what user is looking at or what they can do within the report. All I want is the small (i) information button to allow me to enter some text that displays as a tooltip when user hovers or clicks on it. Poof... instant instruction manual for newbies.
