Same here deleting a dataset caused hours of work!

I have just triple voted as I had to delete a dataset and re-load. To discover I had to rebuild a dashboard :-( .

I have reports etc under version control but a dashboard backup is a must - i really don't want to have to maintain word documents containing each different dashboard build.

This functionality is a must. For tabular model connections, we are at risk of losing 100s of hours of work at the click of a button, with no recovery options.

I have just had the same problem occur. Power BI Desktop is a great tool to manage version control and master backups of reports. But there is a significant effort and focus that goes into producing dashboards (eg pinning tiles) yet there is no way to back up this work. There needs to be some sort of version snap shop to allow us to recover in the scenario where someone accidentally deletes a dataset and that then deletes dashboard links. As an alternative/additional idea, maybe you could prompt a user with information about how many dashboard tiles and reports will be lost when deleting a report/dataset.

We have had to spend hours of developer’s time to manually recover dashboards that disappeared (along with the workspace they were in) after an AD sync.

Absolutely needed for a solution that would go to production

This is critical. The sync between a companies AD and AzureAD can cause Workspaces to be overwritten if there is a security AD group with the same name.

Having to take screenshots of a very large number of dashboards in the case something happens to a workspace to be able to manually recreate dashboards is not how we should have to recover.

I triple voted this one, as it's hugely important. One slip up or disgruntled employee can destroy days or months worth of reports in seconds. There needs to be an automatic backup for organizations, so we at least have the ability to recover reports which have been deleted.
