Right now (intuitively) hidden visuals do not affect cross-filter / cross-highlighting of other visuals. There should be a Format property to toggle this.
Since, there is a limitation to filter from page-to-page using visuals other than slicers, I have single-page solutions that enable users to cross-filter on summary charts and then click various bookmarks "drill-into" other charts by making them visible. The problem is that cross-filtering from those charts will not persist when they are hidden again.
This would also greatly benefit if you wish to emulate a "tab control" cross-filter experience on a single page.
