Please provide option to stop refreshing dataset after refreshing manually...
If there are any performance issues in database this would lock down the table...
I even observed that reports doesnt get published until the refresh is done...

Yes, much needed!

RE: Stop Dataset refresh
This feature is badly needed for both scheduled and on demand refreshes.

very much needed
RE: Stop Dataset refresh
This feature is really needed!! It's very annoying to wait every time you make an adjustment.
Please create somekind of a developer mode, which stops any refresh/interaction and give a manual way to do the refresh.
Just like in Excel to stop the automatic calculation of formulas....

Whether it's 20 min to "apply changes" or 20 seconds every time you need to adjust a measure, it's just too much time that makes it exhausting to work with Power BI.
Obviously an answer is to plan my dashboards better, but when you're exploring it just gets increasingly more tiresome.

I observed this issue with a dataflow refresh. Dataflows show an option to cancel, but mine wouldn't cancel right away. It finally cancelled after 2 hours. This defeats the purpose of having a cancellation option - I could have just waited for the job to eventually fail. But I wanted to keep working and tried to cancel in the hope that I could avoid waiting. Having the job not cancel right away was actually worse than just waiting for it to fail since I had no idea how long it would take, and how long my development work might need to be on hold.

I have a query that calls a function that loops through 50 excel files. Any time I make ANY change to that query (find/replace text etc), it not only loops through all the excel files again, but I can see it looping through EVERY TAB OF EVERY FILE. EVERY TIME. It takes 20 minutes to do this each time. Suffice to say I need to find a solution outside of Power BI/Power Query because of this terribly annoying issue.
