It would be nice to have the option to export a table to an excel file, right now is only on CSV format but someone working on a different ecosystem and does not have Power Bi would need to rework the data and that does not make any point to have PowerBi

This is supported today in the Power BI service; however, it is not yet supported in Power BI Desktop. We'll consider this for a future release.

RE: Export data to Excel

Can we export more than 150,000 rows as well? Haven't been able to figure out a way to export more than that.

RE: Export data to Excel

This is must have feature. I am really dying for this feature. There is also another big issue with PBI Desktop with excel. That we are unable to select PBI Desktop column and rows and paste in excel.
This facility should be available from Edit Query mode or the Data Mode.

Thanks

RE: Export data to Excel

This should be the top priority in term of development. It's a show stopper for user adoption.

RE: Export data to Excel

Kim - We need to export the data as it appear in the table/matrix including formatting, subtotals, etc.

Also, this is a duplicate of : https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/13224069-export-excel

RE: Export data to Excel

Kim - I fear you haven't understood the request. Making what the service does available on the desktop client doesn't meet the need.

I agree with Jeff, this should be a WYSIWYG export for the matrix/table visual. Tableau has this feature and it works really nicely to export simple tables of data without having to reformat or worse, rebuild by hand! I'd urge you to download their trial and see what we mean.

It would also be nice to be able to select to copy and paste individual cells, columns or a range of data within a matrix. But right now i'd settle for a dumb WYSIWIG export of the whole table i could tidy up myself in Excel.

RE: Export data to Excel

Fully agree with Hugh. This is not fully supported today for Power BI Service... it should be a wysiwyg export for the matrix visual. This is the top request from our company user base.

RE: Export data to Excel

Can we get an update on this review? Will a wysiwyg export of a matrix be available in the next 6 months or not? This is a critical feature for many business uses in our company and the main hurdle keeping us from using Power BI for more applications.
