This is a continuation of "Allow runtime parameters in Power View and/or Power Query". Request this capability in Power BI Online so users can go to a dashboard and easily be able to search for a list of values. Currently the user would need to use a slicer and individual select each value. An example would be if I had list of part numbers to search in the dashboard. Currently I would need to scroll up and down in a slicer and individually select each one. In SSRS I can create a parameter dropdown and easily type in and even copy and paste values in to search for.

Please can we add this feature as it'll allow users to change parameters set in Power BI desktop.

This feature is one of the major drawbacks after it is published.

This need only be a Setting of the Dataset on Power BI.com
I don't want my end users to be fiddling around with parameter values that can make major changes to what is seen. However, as a manager of the service this would be useful.
For instance I have a boolean parameter to use "dev sources" or not.

Its one of the most essential features of any reporting tools available in the current market. SSRS have this for years now. Almost, all other reporting tools such as Tableau, qlikview has this. This makes me think, "Why cant I just use MS Excel instead"

This prevents us to migrate from Tableau to Power BI, since we regularly use parameters when publishing workbooks to Tableau Server. In our case, this is especially an issue since we use SQL Server Stored procedures as data sources for many reports/dashboards. Without access to parameters Online, we are stuck with static dashboards and reports.

We are trying to use Power BI with some of the big data connectors like Spark, but big data with Power BI is useless without allowing dynamic parameters.
