Export a report directly in Excel (not only via csv file)

Administrator on 16 Jun 2017 23:49:13

Exporting to Excel from Power BI is supported. You have two options for exporting your data to Excel: * Once you publish to the Power BI service, you can export your data to Excel by clicking on the ... button for any visual. See more info here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-export-data/ * You can use the Analyze in Excel feature to connect directly to your model in Excel: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-analyze-in-excel/

RE: export excel

Be able to export data from Power BI Desktop.
Also, on the service, you can export the data to Excel. What about exporting the graphs that were created to Excel?

RE: export excel

As per others on here, I really don't agree this is fixed. Personally I would like the ability to be able to export in an Excel format from Power BI desktop. I don't see the need to have published the report before allowing exports in this format. If this could be resolved then that would be great!!

RE: export excel

Hi Kim. This is NOT enough. Without the possibility to export in Excel the view as it is on your screen (not the underlying data ... ), this is in most cases useless. All other previous BI tools in my company have that functionnality so users are pushing, this is CRITICAL for business users.

RE: export excel

I would like to Export the entire report, with charts and graphs and tables, into an excel sheet, automatically creating number of Work Sheets equal to number of Pages on the power BI Report. Exporting the underlying data doesn't help the end users.

RE: export excel

I would like to be able to save as an excel spreadsheet from the desktop Power BI, NOT publishing it and then exporting. That's too much work. Currently I'm manually taking screen shots and posting the spreadsheet on our SharePoint site. Thanks

RE: export excel

NOT SOLVED at all.
Excel export should get an excel with the visible information, not the way to get it

RE: export excel

It would be helpful if you could select data from the view you are in, to copy into a spreadsheet. When you choose export, it exports all of the underlying data that makes it unwieldy to use. Alternatively add the option to export 'all 'or 'current view'.
