Export a report directly in Excel (not only via csv file)

Exporting to Excel from Power BI is supported. You have two options for exporting your data to Excel: * Once you publish to the Power BI service, you can export your data to Excel by clicking on the ... button for any visual. See more info here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-export-data/ * You can use the Analyze in Excel feature to connect directly to your model in Excel: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-analyze-in-excel/

RE: export excel
We need to be able to export to excel to dump more than the 30,000 rows allowed with .csv files. Don't know why this capability if available in the Web version but not the desktop version of Power BI.
RE: export excel
Hello,
Don't understand why it is so complicated to make export to excel in Power Bi reporting server? We are using in three countries it more than one year and still this functionality not developed. This export to .csv is demotivating for end users. Please plan this!

Hello Kim,
The first link is going to a 404 page. Please check and update.
Can you export to excel from the published report on the URL eg. app.powerbi.com/view?
RE: export excel
The export to CSV works, but than you have to use "text to columns" function - this is something our clients wont spend time with in case they need to copy-paste the report data to their other workbooks/reports. And I cant let them download the whole database either.
It would be very helpful if you (PowerBI developers) could add a function that would export-the-data-and-text-to-column them in one step, or as I like to call it, export to excel.
RE: export excel
Definitely not completed. Table visualizations can only export as csv, which isn't very useful when some of the data has commas in it!
RE: export excel
Not solved. Need to be able to export matrix and tables built in the visual on Power BI Desktop into excel. I've also ran into issues when the .csv export rearranges the columns, which is a huge annoyance.
RE: export excel
This still isn't solved. Need to export as shown in the matrix.
RE: export excel
This still isn't solved. Need to export as shown in the matrix. This should be an easy request you are already showing the data. Why is Microsoft making this hard?
RE: export excel
To export data from Power BI to Excel, it takes additional time by using Power BI service.
Thus I wish very much that we can do this from Power BI desktop directly.
RE: export excel
Power BI Report Server needs to be able to Export to Excel formatted table. It has to roughly match the table - ordering of columns and rows, number formatting etc.
