I have a large set of options from which I would like to pick some specific ones and use them in a slicer to filter my data.
Currently, this is not possible while it is an implemented feature for other chart types.
I'm currently using a 100% stacked column chart as a workaround.

I'm happy to say this is now complete! In the June 2019 release of Power BI Desktop you'll see you can set visual level filters on slicers. There's one known issue where applying a measure filter to a slicer in range mode causes the visual to show an error. We'll release a fix in an interim update before the July release. Thanks for your patience and your votes, everyone!

RE: Visual level filtering in slicers

Important for me as well. There are a lot of reasons why one might want to suppress slicer options without actually filtering out data. Sometimes the data one has available for a slicer is confusing to normal users of the report and should be hidden, but not eliminated from the un-sliced/un-filtered data.

Please enable this feature. It's really silly that I can't do this.

Adding support for this feature. Really really frustrating having to make reference tables for what should be a very simple filter option for slicers.

RE: Visual level filtering in slicers

Adding support for this feature request. Really odd why such a simple (and apparently commonly needed) feature that is supported across other visuals doesn't work here with the standard slicer.

RE: Visual level filtering in slicers

This is a must have for me. When I connect to SSAS i have like 10 different entities to choose from, which gives me an enormous amount of possibilities when slicing. Works perfectly in Excel, so should work in Power Bi as well!?
