It was implemented in charts but not in tables or matrixes.

We released conditional formatting in tables with our May release of Power BI Desktop. Give it a try and let us know what you think. You can learn more about how to use it in our latest blog post: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-update-feature-summary/.

RE: conditional formatting in tables

Voting for (Daniel option) - Colour by Columns & Rows, OR at the very least, allow us to have grid lines. The Power BI Matrix is sore on the eyes when you look at a large data set. Best - to be able to define color tiers manually (or by other measure) to do nice KPI functionality.

Very important and basic for a viz tool.

RE: conditional formatting in tables

Conditional formatting for matrix' and tables would push Power BI one step further to being the obvious BI choice!

RE: conditional formatting in tables

I think Matthew Lingard says it perfectly. We also need colour formatting for table / matrix values, and the ability to base the decision on a formula as well as a value.

RE: conditional formatting in tables

There is a possibility to manually set colors and conditional format (some) visuals. However I cannot use data from my dataset (for example different targets for different categories) to format my visuals. https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/6518993-set-colors-and-conditional-formatting-in-visuals is "completed" but I believe this is a too basic solution, not how it should be (as also mentioned in the comments there).

Botz idea is great! ("Utilize the colors defined in an MDX Cube to a cell on a Matrix or table")

RE: conditional formatting in tables

It would be very useful to be able to conditionally format the values in the matrix. Similar in fashion to the way excel automatically conditionally formats the cell background of a pivot from green to red. This would be useful for creating matrix views that compare dates such as order date vs. delivery date. With one date in rows, the other in columns, and the count of orders in values, colors on the value cells would give a great heatmap style view of the duration and volumes of your orders.
