Thanks for your feedback - at this time, we're not planning to add this capability to Power BI Report Server. We understand this will be disappointing to many of you who've voted and provided feedback, and this wasn't a decision made lightly. And of course, you'll continue to see investments in these capabilities in the Power BI service going forward.

If it is allowed for powerbi.com it should be available for Report Server

if this is not planned, are there any plans to improve the map visuals? The current maps are inferior to most other reporting tools and our business users are questioning why we dropped Tableau in favor of Power BI because of how bad the maps look in comparison.

What's ridiculous about this is that ArcGIS works perfectly fine on an earlier demo version of PowerBI, and now the functionality has been stripped out on update, to say that there is no plan to add the capability is completely false. Working in Public Safety we are unable to use cloud products and need an onsite solution.

This is so disappointing.
Default map visuals are not on par with competition. ESRI visual closes the gap on some points so our organisation was very eager to see this happen. We now are stuck on doing (basic) GIS analyses/visualizations and BI reports separately.
When deciding in favor of PBRS we were really counting on this integration. I know this was never officially announced, but it has been present in the options setting of the software for over a year (grayed out checkbox 'Use ArcGis Maps for Power BI'). Based on this it seemed not a question 'if' but 'when' this would be available.
