Have independent controls to include and format data labels when using Line and Column Chart visualizations. This visualization is essential to have data analyses with different value ranges, which means it is likely to have different labeling needs for data expressed in columns than the one used to expressed in lines.

The original request was to format the line and columns separately, which you can do today through the customize series option. Here's a post detailing the feature: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/blog/power-bi-desktop-june-2018-feature-summary/#comboLabels

That'd be really nice to have. Scenario was exposed before: I want to be able to show data label for the stacked column and not the line (or vice versa).

RE: Independent Data Label Controls in Combo Charts

This is important not only to separately format the data labels, but also to be able to turn them on and off independently of each other as well

RE: Independent Data Label Controls in Combo Charts

I would like to do this as I'm using the Line chart to put the grand total above the stacked bar chart and only want to display the grand totals, not the total for each slice.

RE: Independent Data Label Controls in Combo Charts

Very much support this idea... I have immediate need to provide this capability for charts I am building.

Very basic feature you'd expect to find in a leading BI tool.

RE: Independent Data Label Controls in Combo Charts

This is pretty darn important guys. We need to be able to control bar and line data labels independently for obvious reasons!

RE: Independent Data Label Controls in Combo Charts

Absolutely Agreed! It should allow users to choose show line or bar chart data label in combination charts.

RE: Independent Data Label Controls in Combo Charts

Yep, it would be great to be able to: 1) Turn off data labels for line and/or stacked bar 2) Move the data labels around (so they can be easier seen--sometimes they're too close or hidden)
