datasets/reports only show latest data. Would like to be able to schedule each month to save a point-in-time snapshot of the report/dataset as it is at that time. Then I can show a client their report from this month, or last month, or one year ago. Not just the data as it is at the latest refresh

RE: Allow for point-in-time snapshots for reports/dataset
You don't just need the ability to have snapshot data sets but the ability to:
1) build reports on data across the snapshots. Such as plotting the change in a measure over time. Snapshot date would be important piece of metadata
2) Set Operations on snapshots. (Union, Union All, Intersect, Except, etc) This may apply to two or more snapshots together
3) Snapshot selection rules. E.g. The last snapshot plus the one on or just before the last snapshot date minus 1 year.
RE: Allow for point-in-time snapshots for reports/dataset
This would be extremely helpful feature to do over time KPI behavior analysis, great to have for sure.
RE: Allow for point-in-time snapshots for reports/dataset
This feature would be great to have in PowerBi. Maybe the ability to create a static table to report off
RE: Allow for point-in-time snapshots for reports/dataset
This is an essential feature for some of our reporting and an industry standard in some other products. The sooner we can have this, the better.
RE: Allow for point-in-time snapshots for reports/dataset
Please add this to preserve the historical data or add ability to export data as csv on schedule
RE: Allow for point-in-time snapshots for reports/dataset
Yes please add the data snapshot feature!

i.e. Need a comparison of today's data with the same data from 3 months ago. On a daily basis but should be able to roll up into weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
