As has been partly implemented with Filters, it would be very useful to have slicers that could apply to all pages of a report. This would allow users to interact more easily.

The most exciting news so far this year! In the February release of Power BI Desktop we've shipped the ability to synchronize slicers on different pages in your report! You can read more about how the feature works here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-february-2018-feature-summary/#syncSlicers Thanks again for everyone's feedback and votes on this feature. We do listen to you so keep voting and let us know what other things you need us to prioritize.

We have many users asking this functionality so that they don't need to filter same thing multiple times. It shows the smooth transition from one tab to another tab.

RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report

We have several use cases were the same report is going to many different users, each one of which will have their own "standard" slicer selections that they would like to maintain as their own default. There is no way for a "user" (person with whom the report has been shared) can save their own slicer and/or filter defaults. To accomplish this, the report author must create a custom version of that report for each user with a different set of slicer/filter defaults. Letting "users" save their own slicer/filter defaults would eliminate the need to create individual report versions for shared reporting.

I would think a report header/footer would be useful in this case. Any graph or filter in the header would apply to all visuals in the report, maybe with a opt out per visualisation. By opt out I mean you select if you want global filters to apply or not.

RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report

My suggestion to solve the problem would be to create tabbed content placeholders that we can drag to the page and then drag visuals into each tabbed placeholder. Of course only the selected tab would be visible. With nested tabs we have all the flexibility we need and can fit a lot of information into just one page. This would be revolutionary for my needs.

RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report

In order to compete as a self-service BI tool this is a must have.
Along with the ability to make them visible in all pages of a report.
Competition can do this, and it is a competitive disadvantage not to have the same functionality, to get the potential users to choose Power BI instead of the competition,

RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report

In Excel I put Slicers in a "Freeze Row" or "Freeze Column", make "report connections" from the Slicers to various Pivot Tables. I can see the results of the choices made in the Slicers in the entire report. I hope it is possible that Power BI can offer a solution to use Slicers as Report Level Filters.

RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report

Please implement asap. Disappointing that I have to tell managers that they have to select the same slicer criteria for every page they want to see.
